Kyocera Phones
I remember hearing that on one of the kyocera phones you can install apk files even if they aren't fake-signed, is this true? which phone?
YEG Yes, but I think this way is permanent so you might want to double check,
run:
adb shell pm list packages
and find the one that says hotspot and then run this command:
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0
with the package name after the 0
naftali89 Yes. On The DuraXV you can install apps simply by Bluetoothing them over.
Easy Method 2 - Works on Kyoceras, may also work on other models
Credit goes to @kollelniyes for discovering and sharing this method
Bluetooth the apk file that you downloaded from our site from a different phone on to your kyocera phone
Once the file is recieved, go to notifications and click on the notification saying the file is recieved. This should trigger an install.
Tatah! You are done. (Told you it was easy.)
YEG Do pm list packages and try to figure out which package it is.
naftali89 dura xv and dura xv extreme will install and run almost any app without modification
TryingToBeHelpful does this work on the kyocera cadence aswell
no for kyocera cadence the apps will need to be signed. only the kyocera dura xv and dura xv extreme can install apps without modding them at all. (also the sonim xp3 and xp5)
can someone walk me thru installed and using the launcher and waze? i thought i installed it but dont see it anywhere
i have a kyocera cadence
yp1 To install the app, you first have to enable developer options. Here's how to do it.
From apps4flip.com/installation:
For Kyocera and all other 4G Flip Phones
Tap on the Settings app -> Software Information.
Tap on the build number 7 times and then go back to Settings. A new option called developer options will appear.
Select Developer Options.
Here's how to launch it.
From apps4flip.com/apps:
For All Other Phones, run the following adb command in terminal (on Mac), or command line (on Windows):
adb shell monkey -p com.android.cts.launcher -c android.intent.category.LAUNCHER 1
You can access the launcher now by going to notifications and clicking on the apps4flip notification. Alternatively, open up the dial pad and dial ##1711##. (Note: You can also access the launcher anytime by just dialing the above sequence.)
In the future please go to apps4flip.com and look around there a little before asking here.
henry1234567890 No idea. Give it a try and lets us know if its works.
TryingToBeHelpful thank you for responding, but i tried that and it didnt work
yp1 Did you enable developer options before you put on the app?
yp1 Uninsatll the app and start over?

how do i grant waze access to my location?
Does anyone know how to access the options of Voice Access on the Kyocera Dura?
I'm trying to get rid of the blue button and to be able to set that tapping voice access again shuts it off.
On the LG phones it can be accessed from the phone's notifications, but on the Kyocera Dura there's no such option.
Any insight would be really appreciated.
Thanks.
Random Thank you for your reply. I thought of that too, the day after I had posted the question. But I didn't get around to updating until now.
esaphire3 I know I'm late put you cant install from the browser on the XP3 Plus and the mouse does not work for that model either so even if you do find a app you can install in ADB that does'nt crash upon opening its impossible to navigate without the mouse
Does anyone know how to make the external display window on the kyocera duraxv Extreme display text message notifications?
The phone comes with Verizon Message. I disabled it and instead installed Message+ (the version (6.5.4) that works on the Cadence and Duraxv, which displays properly on their external screen), but the notifications won't display on my outside screen. otherwise it works pretty well (slight lag). I used ADB to set it as default SMS app but I'm Not sure if there's another command or setting i need to fix to make it work properly on this phone.
is an option to have the app of a Kyocera E4610 with meshimer filter?
I have the Kyocera DuraXE Epic (AT&T variant of the DuraXV Extreme) and am trying to install and use both the mouse and Voice Access. But when I use adb to enable one, it shuts off the other. Very frustrating as I use both. Seems to be the line: "adb shell settings put secure enabled_accessibility_services" followed by the package name that does it. I'm wondering if the phone thinks this means the package named in the line is the only one to be set as such. Is there a way to use this line to activate both services on the one line?
kyocera cadence sending all txts as group messeages to random numbers . anyone know how to fix?
the e 4810 works excellently with T-Mobile, however you would have to correctly set the apn yourself, and the wifi calling/ mobile hotspot may not work
since any App (like Google voice which I'm desperate for) runs on Google Play can't be installed & work on the Kyocera e4610 / e4810 , does anybody knows how if there is a modified "Google Voice Apk which doesn't work with google play?
or how to Root the phone otherwise

Ok so now that I actually had to set one up, instead of a copy/paste from T-Mobile website, I can help with what is actually needed. This is the T-Mobile APN for Kyocera DuraXV E-4180:
Name: T-Mobile
APN: epc.tmobile.com
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
APN Protocol: IPv4/IPv6
Flippy
yes but for lte devices you should do
fast.t-mobile.com (for LTE devices)
epc.tmobile.com (for non-LTE devices)
4448641 Right I know that's what the site says. But we are talking about the Kyocera DuraXV E-4180 which may actually be a LTE device, but fast.t-mobile.com did not work for it... So, I am letting people know what actually works for it. Did you have a different experience?
Flippy By the bars of service it showed a house symbol basically no 4g connection in other words service didn't work I didn't try apns then but when I had the hotspot problem with us mobile I did try editing the apn's and its greyed out I even tried an app that lets u edit locked apns but when I went back to the apn through settings I saw it went back to default. From what I understood phones that aren't volte compatible don't work on tello period also because the phone needs to meet the frequency requirements
