Let’s admit it: the built-in launcher is defective.
Unable to access installed apps, if you resize the screen everything is cramped, and more…

So we decided to install an unofficial launcher.
Now we have a problem: it's impossible to access recent apps and the notification bar without the built-in launcher.
What can we do?

So I built some simple apps to help whit that. (Basically every app is just a shortcut to activity in SystemUI).
Download the apps listed here, install them and you can access whatever you want!

notifications.apk
Recents.apk
Brightness.apk (more convenient than the settings)

Recent_Calls.apk

Note: These apps have been tried on the LG classic, and should work without problem on the other LGs. Other devices will probably need custom apps.

GOLDFISH I'm sorry, but I didn't found the activity of the hidden menu, and without it I can't create shortcut.

Uri maybe it’s because on the lg classic there is no package name for the hidden menu and it can’t be uninstalled with adb so you don’t see the activity of it but on the lg exalt there is a package name for the hidden menu so I could try sending you the system files and you could check if you see some activity to create a shortcut apk

Uri i copied these system files app priv-app framework from the lg exalt but I can’t zip these files I get an error when trying to zip it so could let me know which are the files that you need to make the hidden menu shortcut apk and I’ll try to zip only that few files and then send it to you

And about the unlocked lg classic system files I didn’t copy yet because on the moment I don’t have a unlocked lg classic near me I unlocked 6 phones by tracfone but that I selled for people so next time I’ll unlock a phone I’ll copy the system files and try to send it to you

Uri i think maybe you could try making a shortcut apk to eject so card and mount sd card option on the phone it should look maybe like the brightness app that it comes up on the screen the option and also then it will be able to mapp a button to eject sd with button mapper and will not have to go in settings every time you want to eject or mount sd it’s made for people that have ifew sd cards and want to change fast the sd card

GOLDFISH I do not really know. What do you mean you get an error? Have you tried zipping with PC? 7-zip is great software.

Uri I did it the regular way on a laptop right click then send to then compressed (zipped) folder and I got this error IMG_4396.jpg

By now I would have thought that someone (not me I'm clueless) would have figured out for us a home app that works with the built in buttons so we can use the send key to see recent calls and can access notifications the built in way, but also allows us to see all the apps (or at least a few of them by filling in the empty spaces in the app grid) without having to go to a separate app launcher. The filtered phones seem to have something like Im describing. What did they do? design their own from scratch? Modify FPhome?

Uri These apps (besides for marshmallow) do not work on the T408DL, the most imp to me is the notification as the square launcher doesn't allow access to that. Do you have a solution?

pelfman1 I can probably make one for you that opens notifications on t408dl (but not for a few days).

The OP made these apps specifically for the L125dl.
