  • Go to Home Screen While in Middle of a Call

Does anybody know of an app that could be used to go to the homescreen / any other app while in middle of a call? I've been looking around all over and I found that there was once an app called home4flip on a website that was only up for a short time, but I can't find the app. I tried using the button mapper to map a button to home and it still didn't work.
(By the way, the button mapper on the website hasn't installed on any phone I've tried it on. (I get Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_NO_MATCHING_ABIS: Failed to extract native libraries, res=-113]). I found a similar APK that worked for me on a different website. If anybody wants it you could ask me.)
(I know the concept works because I used scrcpy on WebADB while I was on a call to test it out, and the home button on bottom worked.) If anybody knows of an app / command / any way to get to the home screen while in middle of a call please tell me. Thanks!

Use button mapper to set a home screen button.

FliphoneBochur I use the button mapper on my LG Classic for that and it works fine. You probably didn't put the right permissions to enable with mouse and/or voice access.

mr-mayor Nope. Not on the go flip v. I made the thread asking if anybody knows of any other way to do it.

you don't need to enter a command
option1:

set up:
you need to add a contact (i would call it 1111 or aaaa so it would be on the top of your contacts) and add website to it called apps home4flip.go (yes you can add a website to a contact you might need to go into add/set another field or more options)
how to use:
and then what you need to do is when you are on a phone call; go to add a call; select contacts; then select whatever you named the contact (if you named it 1111 or aaaa it should be on the top) the go down till you see the website and its highlighted (you might not need to go down); then click the top right soft button which should say go (or whichever other says go) and you'll be on the home screen

option2:

set up:
program a button in button mapper to the app home4flip
use:
during a phone call click the button that you programmed to take you to the main screen

12345 Neither options work on my phone. I don't have an option in contacts to open the website, and the button mapper doesn't seem to work for me at all.

and when you scroll down to the website in the contact none of the options like soft right key or soft left key or any thing give the option go/select

can you try to open the app in an app launcher if it doesn't take you to the home screen then its a problem on your phone that the home screen has a different package name

lgexalter1 I tried changing the package name and playing around with the manifest until I got it to install, but the button combo doesn't do anything.

Biden2020prez Maybe try on a phone you could test it out on and then change the launcher package name to fit with mine.

Biden2020prez It installs, when I open the app it goes straight home, but the code isn't working (either in or out of call).

Biden2020prez Yes I tried that. Are you using the same method as the apps4flip launcher? That one worked fine. (When dialing in middle of a call.) Does that have anything to do with notification permissions?

FliphoneBochur Same method, the code is a bit different. I guess you can go from call to apps4flip launcher then click my app. But Im not sure why it's not working directly.

Biden2020prez I just tried it the way you suggested. It worked! (I didn't think of that!) But I wouldn't want to always use that method because I don't usually keep that launcher installed. (I use List Launcher.) I just installed it for this test. Are you sure there's not a bug in your "dial-to-app" code?

FliphoneBochur There is very possible a bug, but the thing is that its working on my LG Classic. Did you do anything to my app before installing?

Biden2020prez Baruch Hashem! I just uninstalled the Apps4Flip launcher and your code worked! I guess you could only have 1 at a time. Thank you so much!

FliphoneBochur weird. Not sure why that is... they should all work. Which Apps4Flip launcher are you using? I can probably modify it to have another secret code to take you to homescreen, maybe it would work.

Biden2020prez It's fine for me the way it is. I don't usually have that launcher installed anyway. I just installed it to test your idea. Anyway, I had the LG classic launcher.

Update: This is really weird. I just reinstalled the apps4flip launcher now just to check if 2 codes really don't work at the same time, and both of them work! I guess I wasn't putting in the right code before. Thank you so much @Biden2020prez for helping me out!

If somebody is just stumbling across this post now, if you want to go to the home screen while you're in middle of a call, here's what to do:

On any phone you can use the trick on bottom of Odds n' Ends. (It's not just specific to LG phones)

On the LG classic or Exalt: Kosher24 (Link to the app to install) 12345 (How to use the app)
On the TCL Flip 2 or the Alcatel Go Flip V: Biden2020prez
On a Schok or Kyocera Phone: Just press options > Go to idle screen
On a Sonim Phone: Just press back

Please correct me if I'm missing anything here.
