I want to copy from my device the original rom so I can edit it.
3474336863 What phone?
Palm pvg, and other also
Biden2020prez I'm also looking for help to extract the firmware from Kyocera cadence.
I want to use it to fix a corrupted device.
The bootloader seems to be locked. it returns "fastboot FAILED (remote: 'unknown command') fastboot: error: Command failed".
also maybe @darth - can you help out here?
practical I wanna do the same thing on a Kyocera Candace but at me I'm not getting the error you are getting I just get device not found
practical I have this https://filetransfer.io/data-package/r8HsoPyB#link drivers installed it works great for the tcl, so basically i need different drivers for every device?
Hi1 this are MediaTek drivers, You will need QUALCOMM drivers and the QUALCOMM flashing tool.
practical what exactly is this? Where can I find it? And y is the mtk drivers not good? Can you explain a little bit more?
Hi1 Drivers are software that allow your PC to interact with the device. Different devices have different chipsets, and therefore will need different drivers. You have the drivers for a MediaTek device, but youre phone has QUALCOMM chipset, which requires different drivers and a different software to flash it. I am not involved in this enough to be able to provide you with a reliable link, but google search for QUALCOMM USB drivers" and "QUALCOMM flashing tool" should give you plenty what to try...
Flippy thanks a lot for your clear explanation, how can I find out witch chipset my device have?
Not sure you can probably google some of them but there is probably a better method via adb or some other software. Offhand I can tell you the Kyocera phones use Qualcomm chips (says it on the hinge). What device are you using?
Flippy my question was about the Kyocera but the reason I asked is plain because maybe in the future I would like to do it with other devices so anyway thanks for your help
practical I installed the flashing tool and the drivers but somehow I don't know how to get the phone into fastboot mode their is no such a option like in the mtk tool
Hi1 you will need the phone powered off and hold the up volume button while connecting to pc. If it doesn't come up itself, then click on "select port", then check the checkbox for "show non qd... "
Hi1 To get in fastboot mode you can use the recovery menu (hold volume down, and power on) "reboot to bootloader". or via adb adb reboot bootloader
practical when I click on Reboot to bootloader nothing happens and it still says no port available and I can't connect this phone to adb any other idea?
practical it's interesting what your saying because I tried with different phone and I connect it the pc while pressing the volume up button and it enter download mode and it pops up immediately in the flash tool while the Kyocera I tried the same and nothing happened with the phone itself it just started charging and the flash tool keeps saying no port available, if you are right what else can I do to get the program detect my device?
Hi1 do you have or did you ever have a filter on this device?
if yes that's probably causing the problem.
how would I get system file from a device
and modify it and flash it back (or any other way of making a custom rom)
