if you use button mapper which you can download with apk pure app store (button-mapper I downloaded from apps for flip didn't work on my e4810) (apk-pure u can download from apk-pure website) then u can set the right soft key for message plus when u double tap on the soft key or long press. Button mapper lets u set 3 different functions for each button, one for single tap one for double ta,p, and one for long press (you might need the mouse app and switchboard to use apk pure app-store,) or you can install a different messaging app and set the right soft key the same way for that app And disable the regular messaging app by going to advanced settings by dev options and then going to apps and notification and when you go to regular messaging press disable if not every time you single tap the right soft when u r by the home screen it will come up then crash

moshe1 Then you can never use the soft key in any menu because it always pulls up the messages app, instead of the action its supposed to do. Makes the phone sort of unusable.

Flippy You can download from apk pure a app called Hidden settings and u can set from there what should be default messaging app and then the messages come up by notifications ()Correction not on outer screen) just like the default messaging app I actually installed the oldest version of message plus that apk pure had which is 6.7.12 but it doesn't work that well because that version is really designed to use with a touchscreen also u can add widgets on the menu so instead of browser u can have the message plus icon there though u cant have the default messaging app and message plus at the same time because once u set message plus for default then the regular messaging crashes

here is a link [VZMessages_pulled_from_Cadence.apk] to a google drive file with message plus that was pulled from a cadence it works b''h excellently on the e4810 if u want to delete a conversation you can delete the conversation by selecting it by options-select threads and then delete by pressing right softkey. 2 issues when you want to add an attachment by taking a pic by pressing take photo it doesn't go, number 2 is that if you want to delete a conversation by long pressing it then you need to press delete with a mouse. When I installed it kept on crashing so I went to the dev options and u go to the last option on the list which is advanced and go to apps and notifications (hidden settings app and go to the line that says app info) and u scroll down till u find message plus and u press it and then press permissions and then press on all switches icons there except location I think isn't necessary

moshe1 Nice, if it works to display on the front screen it would be great. I'm not sure what you mean by widgets though, on the extreme you can set menu items to whatever you want, including message plus instead of the browser, without using hidden settings

Techgen I think it only comes up on the outside screen by the new version of message plus that doesn't work to well on a non-touch phone I'm not 100 percent sure it does but if I remember correctly it does but using the version that works normally far outways having it come up on the outer screen. regarding widgets I didn't know that u can set the widgets with regular settings I'm new to the e4810

I wanna know if there is a way to install the regular Message Plus app (for Smart Phones) on my Kyocera E4180?
I've download it and installed but I can't go in to a conversation it came up that the app has bin stoped

Lonely I installed it on the E4810 (downloaded it from apk pure) and I used this [Hidden_Settings_For_Android_1.7.5_Apkpure.apk] app to allow the permissions for the app and to make it the default message app and I disabled the default message app by going to the last option in the dev option menu list and I set with button mapper the right soft key when u double tap it, it should open the message plus app. Though it is made to use with a touch screen therefore u can only use with a mouse app and even with that it isn't fully functional, u cant swipe the screen with a flip phone after all. I used the oldest version of the smartphone version message + app that apk pure had I don't know about the latest versions will work

I have a (small) issue with the message + on the extreme when I go in to a conversation it goes to the first message in the conversation so I have to scroll down to see my recent messages is there a fix for that anyone?

I noticed that "Notification Access" is not available on the Extreme. is it possible that because of this restriction is why it won't let messages plus display to the outer screen? (As it's probably only available for the built in apps...)

There are 2 you must try both, because some only work on lower versions of android:

adb shell cmd notification allow_listener com.mypackage.app/com.mypackage.app.mylistener
adb shell settings put secure enabled_notification_listeners com.mypackage.app/com.mypackage.app.mylistener
